i couldn't help it but laugh after i wrote this chapter.. i have no idea what has gotten into me, but i just like in joy.. i think i must say, poor ryo..

Chapter 5: Not That Much Different Either

“I said leave me alone!” shouts Shoon as he punches Massu hard, in the face. Ouch! That must be hurt.

Shige and I just walk out of the school gate, finally set free from today’s long and boring student council meeting. We exchange look after seeing Massu being punch, confused with what just happened. Well you know, we just caught them kissing like two weeks ago. What could have happened to them?

“What the hell, Shoon!? I’m just asking you why you didn’t answer my call at all lately. You don’t really have to punch me like that!” says Massu, touching his jaw.

“I told you that I’m seeing someone right now. And you just simply won’t leave me alone,” replies Shoon, sounds really frustrated.

Shige grabs my shirts and pulls me to hide behind the gate before the two of them see us. I look at Shige as I frown, asking him why the two of us need to hide from them. Shige hit lightly my head, telling me not to look for any trouble. “You freaking don’t have to hit my fucking head, you idiot,” I say as I hit his head back.

“What? All I do is just calling you, and nothing more. What’s wrong with you, Shoon? I told you that I’m perfectly fine with you seeing someone. It’s not like we are dating anymore,”

Shoon goes silent. He puts both hands against his head as he decides to just walk away. Wow. This is so much drama, I’m telling you. And just as if it’s not drama enough, Massu grabs Shoon’s wrist and pulls him back.

“I said just leave me alone! Why don’t you just hang out with that Tegoshi kid instead!? You’ve been going to his shop alone lately. You never did before. We always go there together. So please, just don’t make this more difficult for me,” Shoon shoves away Massu’s hand and leaves him standing there alone.

Shige and I decide to use the back gate to go back since I really do not want Massu to know that the two of us overheard them arguing. I take my phone and send an email to Yamapi. Pi, call Massu or maybe Shoon. Both will be better. Something happened, I type.

“Yamashita-senpai is totally jealous about Masuda-senpai seeing Tegoshi, I guess,” says Shige as we make our way back.

“Shige, it’s not our business. Just drop the topic,” I say.

Shige frowns as he looks at me deep in the eyes. “But Nishikido-kun, Masuda-senpai is your friend right? Of course this is your business, and it’s mine too because Tegoshi is my friend as well,” he complains.

Okay. I’m really happy that Shige finally has gained some confidence. But honestly, the more confidence he has become, the more annoying he is! I decide not to reply his complain at all. It’s just a little too annoying to be bothered about somebody else’s business. But Shige just keeps on and on analyzing Massu’s and Shoon’s relationship. Oh God Shige! Just shut up!

“Please Shige. I said it’s none of our business,” I say for God knows how many times already.

“Oh come on, Nishikido-kun! I thought you don’t really like the relationship that Masuda-senpai and Yamashita-senpai have. What I’m trying to say here is that it seems that Yamashita-senpai is jealous because Masuda-senpai keeps seeing Tegoshi lately. However, we both know that Yamashita-senpai claims himself as a straight guy although he dated Masuda-senpai before and had done it with him before. So, the thing is, what if Yamashita-senpai, as straight as he is, is actually attracted to Masuda-senpai? Doesn’t that mean that they can become a real gay couple for real this time?”

I pause. God damn it! Shige is too smart for his own good! That was one hell of an explanation. Whatever he was saying is actually makes sense. Oh my God! No! Massu and Shoon will become a real gay couple? No! I don’t want that! That’s not going to happen!

“Maybe this time, instead of just bed partner, they’re gonna be a real couple madly in love,” adds Shige.

“Oh, shut up! What are you? A detective? Stop acting like a moron,” I complain.

“But what if I’m right?”

Shit! Like hell I’m going to let that happen!!! No! Shoon is certainly not going to be madly in love with my buta! I turn to Shige and grab both side of his shoulder. Shige almost jumps in shock as his upper lip twitches in confuse.

“We need to find Shoon a girlfriend and make sure that Massu and Tegoshi have nothing going on between them,” I say while piercing my eyes. Shige just nods, with lip still twitching.

“Okay, this is the plan. We need to find out whether Shoon currently is really seeing someone or not, and then we need to find out whether Massu is having some feeling to Tegoshi. Write that down, Shige,” I say.

It’s Saturday and the two of us are currently in a cake and bakery café just in the middle of Shibuya. Shige looks at me with mouth pouting, but his hand starts writing anyway. "Seriously Nishikido-kun, I regret telling you what I think about the whole Masuda-senpai and Yamashita-senpai situation thing. I promised Kei-chan to help him in his shop today before you forced me to come with you. And I thought you told me you were supposed to go with Yamashita-senpai, well the one in your class, to visit his cousin in Chiba,” complains Shige.

“Oh, Shige! Stop being so annoying! I like you better when you were still all clumsy!”

“Yeah, whatever,”

“Gosh! Who thought you to talk back to me? Aren’t I supposed to be the scary Nishikido-senpai?” I groan.

“Well, you are not that scary after all. You’re just acting tough to cover up your childishness. For your information, I stopped calling you senpai because you told me to. And please, I taught myself how to talk back to you,” he replies as he puts down his pen.

“I seriously like the clumsy Kato better than the acting so cool Shige, who actually is still clumsy,” I say as I take my coffee from the table, take a sip, lean back to my chair and cross my arms.

Shige decides to put his notebook and pen back to his bag. He then takes the strawberry cake and starts to eat them. Strawberry cake? For goodness sake! You are totally unbelievable Shige! “You are eating a piece of freaking strawberry cake? What are you? A girl?”

He is about to reply me back but he stops as he drops his fork. His eyes are wide open, looking at something behind me. What? Something is happening behind me? I turn my head to the direction Shige is looking at and I find Massu, standing just outside the café, with Tegoshi walking to where he is standing.

“Forget about your cake! We seriously need to stalk them right now!” I say as I grab my bag and take a quick sip of my coffee.

I grab Shige’s wrist and pull him along with me before we lost sight of Massu and Tegoshi. “Shit, Shige! What the hell is your friend doing with my buta?” I say after the two of us manage to catch up with them. We just about a few meters behind those two, trying to follow them wherever they are planning to go.

“I believe the sentence is supposed to be, what are your friend doing with Tegoshi, who is one of my best friends,” he complains.

“Sshhhhtttt! Don’t talk too loud. I don’t want my pride to be thorn into pieces if buta finds out that I’m stalking him,”

“Yeah, whatever,” replies Shige. I just hit Shige’s head lightly to shut him up before they notice our voice.

Massu and Tegoshi enter an accessories shop when they reach the junction. Shige and I wait outside since we think it’s too dangerous to enter the shop as well. I rest my back against the shop’s wall while tapping my foot. Shige scotches down and starts to play with his phone.

The stalking doesn’t really get us any where. Massu and Tegoshi just kind of walk around Shibuya, do some shopping or get some snack from any random food stall. Shige starts to get bored as he keeps pouting his mouth since like an hour ago. “Can you please stop pouting you mouth? You look like an idiot.”

“Will that makes any different? You always call me idiot or moron anyway,” he says as he turns and walks away from me.

“Where the hell do you think you are going?”

“Can we just stop stalking them? They just hang out together. That’s all. Nothing to see. Maybe my conclusion about the whole situation of Masuda-senpai and Yamashita-senpai was wrong. We are just wasting our time. If you want to continue stalking them, go ahead. I’m going home.”

Damn it, Shige! What the fuck? I can only watch his back as he keeps walking further. I turn my head to Massu and Tegoshi who are still chatting happily while keep walking to the opposite way as Shige. I turn my head back to Shige that is now already quite far from me.

Shit! This is totally shit. I decide to catch Shige up. What the hell Shige. This is so unbelievable. You were the one that made me believe that this is also my problem. And what’s with the attitude? This is so stupid. “Shige! Wait!” Shige doesn’t stop at all. He keeps walking although I finally manage to catch him up.

“What? I thought you were so interested in stalking the two of them? I’m tired, Nishikido-kun. And I have to help Kei-chan the whole day tomorrow because I can’t help him today. Well, thanks to you,” he says and keeps walking.

I don’t know what to say. It’s kind of true that I’m the one that force him to go with me. I won’t ask him to go with me if Yamapi or Koyama refused to help me to make Massu and Shoon separate and to make sure that Massu has no feeling to Tegoshi. But he was the one that said he didn’t mind to help me!

We don’t really talk on our way back. We just sit next to each other on the train, with nothing to say. What’s worse, Shige doesn’t even look at me! He sits just right next to me, but not even once he glances at me. What the hell is he so mad about? Everything about him tends to not make any sense at all.

It’s already dark when we reach our neighbour hood. None of us manage to say anything at all. I look at Shige. He still tries to avoid my look. I hate this silent. Seriously. This is annoying. I take a good look at him again, realizing that our height difference is actually quite noticeable since I find my self looking up. Okay, so much for me trying to forget how short I am.

“Are you going to say anything or not? I’m sick of this silent,” I say at the end.

“….” Just silent. Shige doesn’t reply me back.

“Seriously, Shige. If I said or did something wrong, can you please tell me. This is so awkward,” I say again.

Shige stops before he answers my question. I stop as well and turn my body to face him. I wait and wait, but Shige doesn’t say anything. “Are you mad because I force you to come with me today?” I ask. Shige shakes his head lightly as he puts both hands on his pant’s pockets.

“Then?”

“Well, are you really against the fact that Masuda-senpai is gay? I mean, since you found out about it, you’ve been complaining on how much his relationship with Yamashita-senpai doesn’t make sense to you,”

“Isn’t it obvious? Why it’s even bothering you?”

Shige goes silent again. What is it now? He puts his hand on his cheek, looks around in frustration. The chill from the cold spring night really doesn’t help this awkward situation at all. Shige then sets his eyes on me. He sighs as he puts both hands on my shoulder. “I’m not that much different either,” he says as he leans forward. And he kisses me. He. Kisses. Me.

I don’t push him away. I don’t push him away at all. I don’t do anything! What the fuck! Do something, Ryo! Push him away! Kick him! Slap him! Anything! Shit! Don’t open your mouth! Crap! Nishikido Ryo, you do not just put your palms against his cheeks! No! Don’t shove your fucking tongue inside his mouth!

“Fuck! I did not just kiss you back,” I say as I pull away at last.
