-------------

As Takaki leaned forward to kiss him after he locked Daiki in between his knees, Daiki just sat still on the sofa, didn't push him away. Daiki didn’t really sure why he was then drawn deep into the kisses. He gasped as Takaki managed to slip his tongue in from the little gap between Daiki’s lips. He could only think that either it was because Takaki was a good kisser or it was just because it was Daiki’s first time that someone plays with his tongue, that he found it really hard to resist.

Daiki didn’t know how he ended up coming over to Takaki’s house after they went for dinner. He didn’t even know why Takaki dragged him to go for dinner with him after their rehearsal ended in the first place. His mind was not working properly. All he could remember was how Takaki complained that drama had worn him out during dinner, and the next thing he knew Takaki was already sitting on him, with both knees on each side of his laps.

It never occurred to him that they would be doing something as insane as this before. No matter how hard Daiki tried to remember, his brain just couldn’t recall if there was even a slightest physical attraction between the two of them before. Daiki was pretty sure that he was perfectly normal, that not even once he ever think of the same sex as attractive before. He even was sure that he never saw Takaki in such a way before. But he just couldn’t resist.

It was unexplainable how Daiki felt that the kisses were so familiar, no matter how much he was pretty sure that he never kissed Takaki before. The way Takaki placed his curving fingers on his neck, with the thumbs brushing gently Daiki’s cheeks, made Daiki curling his own fingers against Takaki’s shirt. It was even more unusual when he found himself trying to reach out Takaki’s lips back as Takaki’s pulled away to breathe.

“Uhnn..” Daiki moaned in protest. With eyes half opened, one of Daiki’s hand grabbed Takaki’s shirt’s collar, pulling him back. Takaki refused to give in. He put his forehead against Daiki’s instead. Daiki could feel the warm breeze from Takaki’s breath blew softly in such a quick pace to his nose. “Wait, I can’t breathe,” said Takaki while trying to inhale some air.

As he finally able to breathe properly, Takaki continued where he left. Once again, Daiki could feel how heavy his eyes had become. Takaki himself on the other hand, knew exactly why he did what he was doing. He knew exactly why he dragged Daiki out for dinner, although just like Daiki, he couldn’t remember how Daiki ended up being in his place later on.

Takaki had been craving for the warm that Daiki was giving him through his mouth. He had been craving to find out how it would feel like to touch gently Daiki’s fair skin. And it hurt to think that all these were just dreams, up until just now. It wasn’t Daiki’s cute and baby like face that made Takaki fell hard for him. It was how much it had been bothering him when he started to see Daiki less since his drama started.

It was about how his whole world kept crushing right in front of his eyes each time he saw Daiki smiled at someone else or enjoyed himself around everyone else. And it was his frustration over this unknown reason that kept making him feel like sinking to the hub of the earth when the first thing Daiki did each time he entered the dressing room was greeting Chinen, or Inoo, or anyone else but him. It was how much he wanted to be greeted first, instead of the second one, third one, fourth one, or even the last one sometimes.

“Daiki, I’m begging you. I want you to notice me. Please approve my presence,” whispered Takaki between the kisses. It hurt so much when he was finally able to say that. It felt so painful on the back of his throat to be honest about what he had been wanting all this time at last.

Daiki’s high mind finally back on the ground when he heard what Takaki was whispering. Suddenly his managed to resurface after drowning too deeply into the tingling sensation Takaki’s kisses gave him. He placed both palms against Takaki’s chest as he pushed him away gently. “What are you talking about, Takaki?” asked Daiki.

Takaki’s fingers let go of Daiki’s cheek as his head fell slowly, facing down. His brown hair fringe covered almost half of his face, with both hand gripping tightly the edge of Daiki’s cardigan. “Nothing,” he replied. He leaned forward slowly as he pressed his lips against the curve between Daiki’s neck and shoulder. “It’s nothing, really,” he added as he sucked gently Daiki’s fair skin.

Soft moans started to came out from Daiki’s closed lips, sounded as if they were being held back. His hand started to ran through Takaki’s hair as he was once again drawn into another world where it was just pitch black in his vision, with tremendous explosions of butterflies on his stomach. He pulled his other hand to cover his mouth as he looked away, preventing any loud moan to come out, when Takaki’s lips trailed passionately to the back of his ear.

Seconds later, Takaki’s lips found its way back to Daiki’s lips after he pulled away Daiki’s hand that was covering his mouth. He bit gently Daiki’s lower lip as he kept turning his head from left to right, trying to find the right angle. If it wasn’t because of the sudden bitter taste from a drop of tears that ran through from the side of Daiki’s nose to the corner of his lips, Daiki wouldn’t be bothered to push Takaki away again.

“Takaki, you are crying,” he said, looking confused.

“I’m fine. It’s nothing, really,” Takaki tried to swept his tears away as he sat on Daiki’s lap, feeling mentally exhausted of sitting on bended knees with Daiki’s legs in between.

“You’re not fine. You are crying. What’s wrong?”

“I said it’s nothing,” replied Takaki.

“Takaki…”

“Please, Daiki. Don’t ask any further,”

“But…”

“Please don’t…” It was hard for Takaki to stop his tears from falling down from the corner of his eyes.

Daiki’s hands reached out to Takaki’s face, brushing off the tears gently. It suddenly felt so heavy for Daiki to see the older boy crying. It felt so heartbreaking to see his bandmate crying for the first time since they met. And it made him feel guilty, especially after enjoying all the pleasurable kisses and smooches Takaki gave him. “Takaki, tell me what’s wrong.”

“It just hurts to think that all these kisses might mean nothing to you,” Takaki started to sound sobbing. He placed his forehead against Daiki’s shoulder. He cried and cried, letting out all the frustration from within. Takaki wrapped one of his arms on Daiki’s waist, with the other hand wrapping Daiki’s neck, hugging him tight. “I love you. I’ve been in love with you since I can’t remember when. And it just hurts to realize that I’m just being such a pathetic useless guy that doesn’t get a return of his feeling,”

“Takaki…”

“Please… Don’t say anything. It will hurt even worse to actually hear the truth,”

The younger boy didn’t know what to do. One moment he was enjoying Takaki’s kisses, the next moment, he found himself trapped with Takaki’s sudden outburst. It felt so heavy, not the fact that Takaki was still sitting on his laps, but the fact that he was witnessing the weak side of his friend. Daiki wasn’t prepared for all these.

“No, Takaki. They didn’t feel as if they were nothing. I’m not sure what it was, but I felt something. I did feel something,” said Daiki.

“Don’t say that just because you want to make me feel better, Daiki. I’m sorry for dragging you to this non-sense conversation,”

“But I mean it. The kisses felt so familiar, although I never kissed you before. They weren’t lustful, they were so sweet instead. So sweet that I was totally drawn into it, Takaki. And I’m not lying,” he added.

“Don’t lie, Daiki. Please, don’t make me feel worse. You never notice me when I’m around anymore. You never greeted me first at work. You never even talk to me that much anymore since our second single. You are pulling yourself away from me, Daiki,”

Takaki let go of his hug. He decided to calm himself down as he stood up and walked across the room to his bed. He sat with both knees up and buried his own face in between his arms that was wrapped around his knees. Daiki looked at him in wonder from the sofa he was sitting on.

“It was because you are out of reach, Takaki, especially since you have your drama to do. Your face is everywhere; on the billboard, magazines, or TV show. It’s everywhere, Takaki. You are getting famous. It feels awkward to talk to you because I will be talking to someone popular. It makes me feel as if I’m nothing. You are out of reach, Takaki,” said Daiki.

He wasn’t sure why, but Daiki decided to walk to the bed and sit beside Takaki. He forced Takaki’s legs to go down as he placed his head on Takaki’s laps. His hand reached up and touched gently Takaki’s cheek. “I really felt something just now. Something that I may not have realized all this time.”

Takaki pushed Daiki away from his laps. He turned his body, facing the shorter boy. Daiki looked serious. He didn’t look as if he was playing around with Takaki. “Didn’t you feel something was different when you kissed me? Didn’t you feel that it was as if there was nothing else matter when you kissed me?” asked Daiki, while biting his own lower lip. Takaki just nodded lightly. It certainly felt that way, he thought to himself.

“So, how could you assume that I felt nothing when I let you kissed me?” said Daiki as he pushed Takaki against the bed. He crawled on top Takaki and pressed their lips together. Daiki didn’t do anything else but smooching. He just did that again, again, and again, trying his best to give Takaki hint that he did feel something.

He then pulled away and placed his head on top of Takaki’s hand, lying next to him. He wrapped his hand on Takaki’s waist as he hugged him tight. “Could you sense that there was something, Takaki?” he asked. Takaki didn’t say anything. Without shoving Daiki’s head away, he turned his body to Daiki and hugged him back. He couldn’t help it but felt relief because he was indeed sensing that there was something when Daiki kissed him.

“I’m not in love with you just yet, Takaki. But I’m falling for you. I’m falling for you the moment you kissed me,” said Daiki. Takaki still didn’t say anything.

“I’m falling for your kiss because I think you are the right person Takaki. Because I was kissing the right person,” added Daiki.

There were tears once again falling from the corner of Takaki’s eyes. But this time, he was smiling. He was smiling in relief. He put his index finger on Daiki’s chin as he lifted up his face, and kissed him softly. The taste of Takaki’s tears weren’t as bitter as it was before that Daiki cuddled him tighter, pressing their body even closer against each other.

This time, Daiki could remember exactly whether there was a slight attraction he felt towards the older boy or not. He didn’t notice it before because it wasn’t a physical attraction he had towards Takaki. It was because how much he actually loved it when Takaki suddenly burst out singing any song that came up on his mine at any random situation, such as on this one time that he suddenly sang Jingle Bell although it was summer. It was because how much he thought that it was cute when Takaki was being nice sharing his snack around to everyone, but ended up sulking because he didn’t get any left for himself at the end.

“Thank you, Takaki,” said Daiki.

“For what?”

“For making me realized that a simple thing can actually triggered the start of something new,” he replied.

Takaki looked at Daiki in wonder. Daiki just smiled. He was so glad that at least he knew why he fell for the kisses. Takaki, on the other hand, felt so blessed that Daiki at least felt something towards him. Both stayed in their position until late, and decided to stay that way without even saying anything, until both just fell asleep.

Because suddenly what matters was the presence of the other party.
