( Prologue )
( Chapter 1: The Nightmare )

“I hate you,” complained Ryo.
“No no no no, Ryo-chan. You won’t hate me. I know you too well,” Yamashita just shoved a glass of beer to Ryo.
“You told me that we’re going to the nearest hot spring. At the end, for some unknown reason, we ended up in this bar. I fucking hate you, Pi,” Ryo just groaned, but drink his beer anyway.
Yamashita just laughed. He just put up his hand and made a peace sign with his hand, still somehow laughing at the shorter man. Ryo didn’t really mad at Yamashita, but he certainly felt really annoyed with Yamashita’s stupidity. As he drank his beer, Ryo observed carefully another person who was sitting in front of him, right beside Yamashita. The dark brown hair guy was reading through a document with both hands on his knees.
“And who the fuck is this?” asked Ryo.
“Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce him to you. This is Koyama Keiichiro. He’s from my section, one of my favourites. He’s here because I have to give him our job’s schedule so he could check whether it suits everyone else in the section. You should read his articles. His talent is certainly one of a kind. I sometimes even think that he’s more suitable in your section than mine. Sports Section gives him very little space to express himself,” explained Yamashita.
“Interesting,” said Ryo.
Koyama just smiled shyly because of Yamashita’s commend. Ryo once again look at the single-lid eyes man from hair to toe. Koyama didn’t really know how to react. At that moment, Koyama had to agree with Shige that Ryo indeed looked like a very scary person. “Then why don’t you just have him transferred to my section since you praise him that much? I’ll give you the least useful columnist from my section,”
“Have him transferred? No way! I won’t be able to handle everything without him. He’s the best reporter I ever have! Especially not if you’ll give me a lousy columnist. Get yourself a promotion, Ryo-chan. Only then I’m willingly to let him go. He’ll make a very good Columnist View Section editor,” Yamashita put his arms around Koyama’s shoulder. Again, Koyama just smiled shyly.
“Very funny, Pi. I won’t get any promotion that easily. You know my dad really well,” said Ryo as he laughed sarcastically.
“Yeah yeah yeah. Cut the crap about your dad out, Ryo-chan. Stop being so childish. He’s a real deal. He’ll recognize any talent, including yours. You just have to prove it to him. Don’t let one stupid fight you have with him screws your career,”
Ryo went silent. He knew that what Yamashita said was actually right. He was actually really lucky that the only thing his dad did after their big fight was having him transferred to that small town. His dad didn’t really shove him away, even though he had been such a disgrace to his family.
“So, who is the least useful one in your section? Is it that Kato kid that you’ve been complaining about?” asked Yamashita. Koyama took the document he was reading quietly; and put it slowly to his bag. Hearing his bestfriend’s name, Koyama intended to listen to what Ryo would say carefully.
“No. Not him. He has talent. He just doesn’t know it yet. Maybe, just like this fellow, Columnist View Section doesn’t really give him enough space to show anyone his ability,” said Ryo.
“He has talent?” Yamashita leaned forward a little, found what Ryo said as fascinating.
“I’m thinking of giving him a bigger share at our page. I’m curious how he’ll do if I do that. He uses loads of analogy, you see,” Ryo continued.
“Eh? Analogy?”
“Yeah,” Ryo took a sip from his beer.
“Oh my God!! We have little Ryo in the house!!” Yamashita’s lips curved upwards in excitement. Koyama looked at his boss in confused, wondering what he meant by ‘little Ryo’.
“No. I can’t call him little me. He uses analogy just like me, but without even realizing it. I think he’s a natural fiction writer. And please, Pi. The term ‘little Ryo’ sounds so wrong. Instead of explaining that he’s someone who writes like me, it’s more towards as if he’s my dick,” said Ryo.
Koyama snorted, but quickly put his head down after Ryo glared at him.

Masuda just sighed when he saw a young man with a white winter coat in front of his apartment’s door. It was late and he was too tired from his part time job that he didn’t even bother to hide. He walked slowly as he dragged his bag lazily. “What do you want, Tegoshi?”
“Massu-chan!” Tegoshi lightened up when he noticed the older man presence.
“Stop calling me Massu-chan,” complained Masuda.
He took his keys from his jeans pocket and unlocked his apartment’s front door. He walked inside and lazily took off his shoes. Right in front of Tegoshi, Masuda closed the door harshly, leaving shocked Tegoshi outside. It took him less than a minute before he opened his front door again.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to. Please do come in, Tegoshi,” said Masuda.
Tegoshi slowly entered the small apartment. He didn’t really say anything when Masuda took off his white winter coat and hang it on the coat’s hanger. After saying thank you, Tegoshi looked around the apartment, recognizing that there wasn’t anything different from the apartment since the last time he visited the older man.
“So, what is it?” asked Masuda after letting Tegoshi to have a sit.
“Anou~.. It’s about what happened last time. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin our friendship, well of course if there was even a friendship between us, but I just have to say sorry,” said Tegoshi.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about. It’s not your fault, really,” said Masuda.
“It is my fault. You were drunk, and I was taking advantage out of it,” Tegoshi put his palms on his knees.
Masuda walked to the kitchen without saying anything to what Tegoshi was saying, and stood still in front of the kitchen’s counter for awhile. His hands started to move at its own will, making a cup of tea. He walked back to where Tegoshi was sitting, and put the tea he made on the coffee table in front of Tegoshi.
“Have a drink, Tegoshi,” said Masuda.
The younger man just nodded lightly and took the small white cup from the table. He took a sip, and kept holding it as he rested his hands on his own laps. “I’m so sorry, Massu-chan,” he said again. His eyes were watery, but no tears fell.
“I told you that it wasn’t your fault,”
“But..”
“I was drunk, but I was conscious enough to push you away,” Masuda added.
“Then why are you avoiding me? It’s been two weeks, Massu-chan. You weren’t there when I woke up. You didn’t answer my calls or reply my messages since then. You even ran when I call your name on campus the other day,”
“Well, I’m j-just.. I w-was.. Oh, dear. I don’t know why I’m avoiding you. I didn’t mean to make things ugly like this. Please, don’t cry,”
“I’m not crying,”
“You are about to cry,”
“I’m not.. I’m just.. j-just..” this time, Tegoshi cried for real. Masuda quickly took the tea from Tegoshi’s laps and put it on the coffee table. He sat next to Tegoshi as he wrapped his arms around the younger boy. Tegoshi quickly turned around and hugged Masuda, burying his face on Masuda’s chest.
“Keep crying, Tegoshi. Keep crying if it makes you feel better,” said Masuda.
“I’m not supposed to be crying. I’m the one to blame. I hate myself,” sniffed Tegoshi. He hugged Masuda even tighter; making the other man patted his head gently.
“How many times should I tell you? It’s not your fault. I told you I wasn’t drunk enough to not push you away that night. I was drawn into it,”
“But…”
Masuda pushed away Tegoshi’s arms from his body and placed a finger on Tegoshi’s lips, stopping the blondie from saying anything more. “Sssttt.. I didn’t regret anything you did to me, Tegoshi. I loved every moment of it. I was just being too nervous to see you since then. I am still nervous right now.”
Tegoshi looked up. He could see how warm Masuda’s smile. He could feel how peaceful it felt when Masuda held his hands gently. It reminded him on how it felt that night. How wonderful it felt that night when Masuda reached out his hand when Tegoshi cherished him between his thrusts. Spontaneously, Tegoshi leaned forward and pressed his lips against Masuda’s. Masuda only pulled away after one whole minute, blushing madly.
“Sorry,” Tegoshi quickly turned away, with cheeks as red as Masuda’s.
“No, it’s okay,” replied Masuda.
Both went silent. Tegoshi took a quick glance at Masuda, but finding the other guy taking a glace at him as well. They didn’t turn away. Their eyes were locked, looking at each other intensely. Masuda gulped as he blinked in nervous, but didn’t break the contact. He was drawn deeply to the big brown eyes that Tegoshi had.
The next thing Masuda knew, he was being pinned down on his bed.

“No way, Koyama. It’s impossible for him to praise me. He’s not like your boss who praises you all the time,” said Shige.
“Seriously, Shige. He praised you! I’m not lying! He said you have talent! And I have to agree with him, you do have talent! Right, Massu?” Koyama waved around his fork, with a piece of french fries stick on it.
Masuda, who just came back from reheating Shige’s coffee, just nodded in agreement. Koyama smiled happily, finding an alliance. “See! Even Massu agreed with me!”
“Non-sense, Koyama. I think you were drunk. He just told me this morning to make my article twice in length. I hardly sleep with the previous length. Let alone twice, Koyama! I’ll be a walking zombie by the end of the week,” complained Shige.
“No! He told Yamashita-san that he was planning to give you more share of your section page! He’s giving you a chance to show your talent. I’m telling you, Shige. He recognized you as a writer!”
“Isn’t it good, Shige? I think Koyama didn’t make things up,” smiled Masuda.
Shige just looked at the older man. He sighed, realizing how bright Masuda’s smile could be sometimes, especially on that red and white stripes uniform of his. For the first time that winter, Shige actually grabbed a piece of edamen from his bowl as he didn’t know whether he should believe Koyama or not. Masuda then left the two with their lunch, well it wasn’t that Shige actually took any lunch but well, and continued his part-time job.
“Is it just me or Massu is actually walking quite funny today?” asked Koyama to Shige.

Huaaaaa!! This chapter is about TegoMass!! Hail TegoMass! I’m officially making this pairing as the side pairing of the fanfic! Maybe, you’ll see more of them. I’m sorry if their relationship is kind of weird, but this is actually how I see them as a pairing. Maa~, or maybe it’s just me who loves seme Tegoshi. Hahaha..
Very little NishiKato, but they were progressing well. I’m sorry for taking too long to post this chapter. I actually finished it last Tuesday (which is a week ago), but I was in Jakarta, having a nice little hiatus, away from home. I just got back three days ago and I posted up my takayama fanfic the moment I got home. That’s why I only posted this up today. I just simply do not want to spam your friends’ page with my fanfic posts.
